Any opinions on the SBC aluminum heads from ATK? Wanting some for a mild 383 build?

The performance SBC is a Pro-Filer. So yes, best head on the market.

I'm happy with my profilers so far. Does ATK do anything to the heads or are they still assembled by profiler if you get complete heads?

The ATK Pro-Filers have a standard height exhaust port.

That head is only available in a 195/180 port correct? What about the Jegs branded profilers are they standard exhaust port also?

I think they are the raised. Thinking ATK wanted the stock height exhaust so ProFiler did that for them.

It's alot easier finding off the shelf headers to fit with the ATK port.

Whats the fun in that? Get that welder fired up and make some headers...lol. I could see the benefit to that with Harry Hotrodder. Seems to be the market ATK is targeting. Probably still a very good cylinder head anyway. People that are looking for the extra H.P. will figure out how to get a header on there.

I am looking at them also for a 383. They have 185,195& 210cc versions I believe. They are on sale at ATK. They only show assembled heads though, so who knows what the parts are. I'd take them apart at least for a look and clean up. And at least put some ARP studs in. I would never trust an assembled head strait out of box.

They look like my EQ 200 cc intake port, 2.02"/1.60" valve, 50 cc chambers. Beautiful as all I can say...
It has amazed me that after all the years looking at Chevy's double-hump heads AND SMALLER how the modern cast-iron heads look so clean, smooth, and nice.
And to think that my old '56, 265" engine, "sparkplug trough", -306 heads are only 118 to 120 or so cc intake port size!

Please elaborate about a raised exhaust port. Pro-Filers standard sbc head has raised d-port exhaust?

A As-cast Pro-Filer is raised .250 over stock.
