Jerk blend mix can be made dry or wet. If making the wet version of this seasoning, we recommend using fresh herbs and fresh fruits, but completely optional.

All of the ingredients would be placed in a food processor, then use asa marinadefor the meat.

The ingredients used in the Jerk seasoning recipe uses ingredients that are readily available in our region. For example, we substituted Scotch Bonnet with cayenne pepper as this is a dry blend.

Jerk seasoning received its name because meats are marinated with spicy ingredients and the flavors are infused in the meat though the holes that are often poked in the meat.

  • 1tablespoonsavoryherb (this herb is basically dried thyme – either will work in this recipe)
  • 2teaspoonkosher salt
  • 1teaspoonground cloves
  • 1teaspoonbrown sugaris used to balance out the savory flavor.

Instant Pot Cooking Method

We highly recommend you use atrivet, as it will help the chicken from soaking in the instant pot while it is cooking.

After seasoning the meat; follow the steps listed below.

Wash the wings under hot water. Add one cup of water in the instant Pot.Then add the Trivet.

Place the wings on top of the trivet. Cover with the lid, and turn the knob to sealing.

Press on pressure cook, and adjust timer to5 minutes. Quick release when finished.

Transfer the wings to a bowl.

Seasoning the meat with the jerk seasoning. Mix to well combine. Add the wings to the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 350°.

Broil on low to color and desired crispiness. Serve immediately and enjoy.
