This is a kid friendly recipe tointroduce their vitamins in a fun way. Sneak in some vitamins and ask them if they want Jell-o… BAM. Healthy children everywhere.Heck, you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy these giggly treats.

Most importantly, jello, and gelatin in general, is part of the autoimmune protocol diet. It is a superfood for regulating gut muscosa and overallinflammatory healing.

Gelatin Benefits

1. Digestive health
Gelatin’s most important quality is to naturally attract waterduring digestion. So it binds to the waterand helps carry the food around your digestive tract with ease. Because of this, it also protects and aids in healing the mucosal lining of your guts. It alsomakes thebreakdown of nutrients easier for you. “You’re welcome”, says gelatin. All of these properties contribute to gelatin being categorized as an anti-inflammatory food.

2. Joint Care
Collagen, collagen, collagen. Our bones and jointsneed it. Gelatin’s got it. Amino acids are also helpful in this aspect of gelatin’s properties.
Gelatin has the same effect as the oil can to the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz.

3. Hair, Skin, Nail Care
You can rub anti-aging and collagen cream on your skin all you want. It won’t do as much as if you consume it. It comes from within. Gelatin aids the growth of nails and hair making both stronger. Easy Paleo Jell-o Recipe

  • 3cups 100% fruit juice or kombucha(I like strawberry!)
  • 1 1/2 – 2 tbsp grass-fed gelatin
  • 1 1/2 tsp honey (optional)

Directions:

Heat the juice or kombucha in a small sauce pan until just about a boil. Then whisk in the gelatin powder. Quickly pour into molds and set in fridge for at least an hour or until firm. You may want to coat the mold with a bit of avocado or coconut oil so they don’t stick – especially if it’s an intricate mold like my smiley faces!

*NOTE: It’s important to use the Great Lakes gelatin in the ORANGE CONTAINER. The green container gelatin is cold water soluble and doesn’t gel like the orangecontainer.

    I love gummies like this! I have the hardest time not eating the whole batch at one time. But considering how good gelatin is for you I suppose that wouldn’t be the worst thing!

    Yay good to see more posts about how awesome gelatin is!!

    We love the Great Lakes grass-fed gelatin powder and use it every day. Our new fave thing to make with it is a hot mint choc with water, cocoa, stevia, gelatin, pure peppermint essence and blend so it goes a bit frothy. No milk and really delicious!

    It’s hard to get the good gelatin in Australia so we actually have a co-op for it. People all over the country have gone in on it with us, not just our local paleo meetup group members, it’s great!     So happy to have found your blog and page. You are such an inspiration to me as I am on my own healing journey.
    I was diagnosed with UC about a year ago and I’m trying to stay away from meds to heal as much as possible after a nasty side effect from taking them in the fall. What is your recommendation for the amount of gummies/ Geletain to eat for healing colitis? Have you found that you need to do bone broth and gelatin for healing or would the gelatin alone be sufficient for healing? My Great Lakes gelatin is on its way and I can’t wait to try out your gummie recipe. Thank you for sharing your journey!

      Thank you very much for your comment! Have you tried gelatin yet? If not, I would start slowly as with anything I recommend. See how it works out for you. It’s all individual. I tend to start my day with a cup of bone broth and then maybe snack on gummies or something in the afternoon. Of course this doesn’t do anything if the rest of my diet and lifestyle do not align. I hope you find exactly what works best for you! Enjoy 🙂
